King Pine Cardboard Box Derby
The event takes place on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at NOON Like an old fashioned soapbox derby this snow even is a crowd pleaser every year! The rules according to King Pine's website is to... "Build a cardboard box racer (for two or four racers) with your own theme and bring your own theme music (CDs preferred) and race down our special racecourse. Racers must be built entirely out of cardboard (no wood or metal allowed). Boxes may be held together with tape, glue or stitched. Contestants must wear helmets." The day includes: ● Registration: 12:00pm ● Time: Inspection and style judging at 12:00pm, Race begins at 1:00pm ● Location: Base of the Open Slope ● Awards: After completion of race at base of open slope. Prizes will be awarded for style, speed and durability ● Forms Needed: Registration form and waiver needed. ● Entrance Fee: $5 entrance fee per cardboard box. Fee covers the cost of prizes.
