Things To Do in Jackson, NH - Snow Sculpting Competition
Jackson, NH - The Village of Jackson, NH is preparing for the 16th annual New Hampshire Sanctioned & Jackson Invitational Snow Sculpting Competition.
This wonderful winter event starts Friday, Janaury 27th and teams will continute to sculpt through Sunday, January 29th. Teams from all over the Northeast will travel to Jackson Village to compete in this prestigious event. Spectators are welcome to view the process as sculptors take an 8 foot high by 4 foot round cylinder of compacted snow and create a frozen masterpiece! Finished pieces can be viewed Sunday, January 29th starting at noon and usually last at least a week. This gives visitors plenty of time to snap some great photos. Consider making a trip from Four Seasons Lodge to view them at night. They are lit up every night which gives them an entirely different look. Jackson, NH has remained a quaint village north of the hustle and bustle of North Conway, NH. It's surrounded by 750,000 acres of White Mountain National Forest Land and attracts visitors from all over the world! Area attractions include the historic Jackson Covered Bridge (FMI, check out http://bit.ly/2iHJYJD), very photogenic white steeple churches, rolling farm land and wild waterfalls! There is usually a bonfire for roasting marshmallows and a torch light parade, a scavenger hunt, and more activities planned for this year. Admission for adults and children is free but donations are encouraged to keep with unique event happening for years to come!
